FtpCafe / Re: Pre-configure FTP servers in FTP Cafe for mass installations

I guess the best way to install Ftpcafe over many devices is the way you doing it now, with adb command. As for the Ftp server I can't help you with that, you need to go to the server specific forum.
If you could tell me the path of file where server details are stored which the app uses to fetch the info, then i can copy that file to my laptop and at each installation, i can just simply adb push the file. So, the app will fetch the server details without having to re-enter them.

Update
I managed to find out that /data/data/com.ftpcafe.trial/shared_prefs/ is the path where server profiles are stored. So, i setup the required servers on one device. Copied the entire folder /data/data/com.ftpcafe.trial to new device. But FTPcafe doesn't show any profiles on the GUI. The drop-down is un-clickable. Any idea?

Regards,
Dev

FtpCafe / Pre-configure FTP servers in FTP Cafe for mass installations
« Last post by devvaibhav on October 24, 2017, 02:47:15 AM »
Hi,

I need to install FTP cafe many times on multiple devices and configure the ftp servers each time i install the app. If there could be a way to pre-configure the servers, it would be very helpful. I install FTPcafe app using the adb install command.

I have root permissions in the device, have some experience with the commands : adb install, adb push/ pull, adb shell

Thanks,
Dev

Hi all..

I got a problem, as soon as I leave the app, my stupid samsung phone closes the app, as it usually do, even if I'm in the middle of an transfer..

Other FTP client usually have a kind of "stay alive" function. Is there none in this app?

I have a feeling you trying to use secure FTP and your Hydromax X40 server https://www.the5x5project.com/hydromax-x40-review-results doesn't understand it. Try using classic FTP and see if that works.

Bingo, using the classic ftp works.

I arrived here because I couldn't get "ftp pro" to connect for the same reason.
So that's two ftp programs telling me that the host address is wrong and yet it works just fine with Core FTP on the computer!
Yes there is an Internet connection, that is what I am using to write this.
Any other suggestions please?
Cheers,
Pete.
